BUSINESS EXPO TO AID RECOVERY – 4th,5th & 6th NOVEMBER 2011

The Purpose of the Expo

The Somerset Region was badly disrupted by the combined effects of the widespread January floods and the GFC. There is an urgent need for recovery by the 2000 businesses, primary producers and community organisations in the region. However this is a slow process expected to take some time yet before a return to normality can be achieved.

The Expo will showcase the amazing variety of businesses and industry sectors represented in the Somerset Region Including: Retail, Hospitality, Tourism, Manufacturers, Building & Construction, Agricultural,Horticultural, Educational Institutions, Community Organisations, Emergency Services, Chambers of Commerce, Somerset Regional Council and Government Departments. “This will provide everyone with an opportunity to showcase their wares, create an awareness of upcoming local developments and offer many new business connections.”

The Expo will be free for all local Someset businesses to exhibit, however we also encourage exhibitors from other regions to participate as a way of assisting the Somerset Region to build new connections and create opportunities for growth. There are a number of Government initiatives and Somerset Regional Council projects underway which will be attractive for suppliers and contractors. Cost to exhibit for those outside the Somerset Region will be $330, $440 or $550 (all inc GST) depending on size of exhibition booth required.

Access for setup will be available from midday Thursday 3rd November until midday Friday 4th November Doors open to the public from 12.30pm Friday 4th November

Friday 4th – Business Meet and Greet function – 3.30pm to 5.30pm
Friday 4th – Gala Dinner – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
Saturday 5th – Outside Broadcast with River 94.9FM
Seminars and workshops held throughout
Trade and DIY demonstrations
Children’s activities including small animal farm, pony rides, jumping castle
Food stands provided by local Charities and Service organisations Expo Promotional

QUILTER’S TRAIL FOR 2011

Twilight Crafts is proud to be part of the Quilter’s trail held during the month of April. The launch of 2011’s Quilter’s Trail is on Saturday, 12th March. The theme this year is “At the beach”. So to launch 2011’s Quilter’s Trail we will be having bunch and beachwear on Saturday, 12th March from 10:00pm.

Passports will be issued on the day (you need a passport and be registered to participate in the quilt trail and be in the draw for some fabulous prizes). Twilight craft will have two buses. The project this year covers all aspects of piecing, embroidery and appliqué. Each shop will give you 25cms (or a fat quarter) and part of the pattern for your personal use (min purchase $10.00 to receive a free gift).

The Quilters Trail Starts in 70 days....

Join in the fun and friendship – gather a group of friends and set out on a journey to nine of the best southeast Queensland Quilt Shops. From the April 1st to 30th each shop will be on the lookout for Quilt ‘Trailers’ – carrying your special passport will ensure you receive the VIP treatment.

You need to arrange a passport so you’ll be ready to go in April. Passports will be available after the 15th of March at the participating shops. You have until the end of April to complete your tour of all nine shops. At each shop when you make a purchase you get your Passport stamped and when you spend $10 or more you even receive a FREE GIFT!

After you’ve collected your passport you need to take a bit of time to consider your wardrobe. The outfit you choose plays an important part in your Quilters Trail experience. Although you’re free to wear whatever you desire, it is tradition to reflect the Trail theme in your garb. Whatever you wear have FUN!

Once you’ve finished the Quilters’ Trail and collected all the passport stamps you’ll be entered into the prize draw – With prizes worth thousands of $’s and more. There’s always plenty of fun and surprises to be had on the Quilters Trail. To finalise the event and draw the prizes come to the Quilt Trail Muster!
